2011

Well I better right this before I run out of time and have to get ready for work. This blog began as an assignment for a class, but I have decided not to let it go to waste. I will be taking it in a new direction. This will be my new personal project for the New Year: I will post a new photo everyday. The point being to motivate myself to get out and take pictures and really delve into who I am as a photographer. The blog will also touch on art in general, music and life. Those being my three main passions. I hope to get lots of feedback on my personal artwork so please don't be shy to leave comments. Happy New Year!

Week 6 EOC: Me Times 3

Three major personal care items I use are lotion from Bath & Body Works, Noxema face wash and Chap Stick. Lotion is something I use every day and would have a very hard time without it. I personally prefer the lotion from Bath & Body Works because it leaves my skin especially soft, has many different varieties of scents and is not too overpriced. One main reason I like this brand over other scented lotions is because I usually don’t even like scented lotions. They are for the most part too oily and the scents are over powering for me. On the rare times that I do venture into a mall, if I happen by the Bath & Body Works store, and happen to see they have a sale, I will almost always stop by. This store is almost entirely marketed to women. Now the women buy the products to smell good, and most women want to smell good for men. More specifically the store is marketing to young women, or the idea of young women. Older women want to feel young so they shop there as well. They go after their customers by offering specials regularly. I have rarely gone there and not seen some sort of sale or promotion. They get customers, like me, who intend to buy 1 or 2 products to walk out with half a dozen products if not more by offering a special. They almost always have buy 3 get 2 free, or some other similar incentive.

Week 1 EOC: My Voice

Living in the City of Sin has not been the easiest part of my life. But I have stayed determined to finish school and gain as much experience as possible as a photographer. Looking through the lens I see the world in a completely different light. The bum on the street begging for change becomes a timeless work of art through my lens. I hold all of the world’s beauty and am able to capture it through my lens. The photos I take center me and remind me just how amazing the world can truly be. The light we see is not the light that is there. I keep my shutter open a little longer and am able to discover a whole other world of light and possibilities. I am as eager as a child learning how to crawl. I want to know all the possibilities that are out there for my camera and me. I am rediscovering myself, or as I realize now, I am just discovering myself for the first time through my camera. If the only thing I am able to offer to this world is the images created through my camera, I will be satisfied with my life. It is my passion that has brought me here, and I will stay focused and pursue on for my passion. I will never take for granted the power a single image can have for the viewer as well as the creator.
